Exploring the True History of Aurangzeb, Shivaji Maharaj, and Modi

Debunking the Myths: Exploring the True History of Aurangzeb, Shivaji Maharaj, and Modi ======================================================================================= The Brainwashing Agenda: Distorting Historical Narratives ---------------------------------------------------------
In the ongoing 2024 elections, if a politician begins talking about Aurangzeb and the Mughals during their campaigning, it might seem like a mockery. However, our honorable Prime Minister Modi has done just that, claiming that "Congress does not remember Aurangzeb's atrocities, he who destroyed hundreds of Hindu temples." This is not a mistake; it is an intentional talking point. The agenda behind this rhetoric is to make you feel that your ancestors were enslaved by Muslims for thousands of years. They want to paint you as a victim, to make you believe that Hindus have been oppressed for thousands of years, and that Muslims have been oppressing us for just as long. But this claim is easy to debunk. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj: A Secular and Inclusive Ruler ---------------------------------------------------------- Was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj someone's slave? Was he oppressed by a Muslim person? Absolutely not! Shivaji was a great emperor who fought great wars and strengthened his empire. How can it be said that he or any Hindu in his empire was someone's slave? Shivaji's father, Shahaji, and his uncle, Sharifji, named after a Sufi saint, show that Shivaji respected both Hindu and Muslim saints. Shivaji had a strict rule that his soldiers were expressly forbidden from harming any woman, Quran, or mosque. When his army captured the daughter-in-law of a Muslim governor, Shivaji asked for her forgiveness and sent her back respectfully. Shivaji's army had many Muslims, including Muslim generals. His infantry chief was Noor Khan Beg, a Muslim, and his lieutenant was Shama Khan. Two of his top navy chiefs were Daulat Khan and Darya Sarang, and his secretary of intelligence was Maulana Haider Ali, a Muslim. Aurangzeb: A Complex and Nuanced Ruler -------------------------------------- According to the WhatsApp narrative, Aurangzeb was a Muslim fanatic who oppressed Hindus. However, the reality is much more complex. Aurangzeb's chief diwan was a Hindu, Raja Raghunath Ray, and Aurangzeb praised him as the greatest administrator he had ever known. Under Aurangzeb's rule, the Hindu participation in the elite levels of the Mughal administration had increased by 50%. While it is true that Aurangzeb demolished some Hindu temples, he also sent a princely order to the Hindu Rajput king, Rana Raj Singh, stating that great kings should ensure that their subjects from every religion live in peace and prosperity. In 1659, Aurangzeb ordered that no Brahmin or Hindu was to be harmed. He also gave land to build temples in Allahabad, Vrindavan, Bihar, and other places. The apparent contradictions in Aurangzeb's actions can be understood in the context of a ruler who was both communal and secular, depending on the situation. This is a pattern that can also be seen in the actions of our current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi: A Modern Parallel to Aurangzeb --------------------------------------------- Like Aurangzeb, Narendra Modi has been described as a communal politician at times and a secular one at others, depending on the situation. Modi has praised Islam for its message of peace and harmony, and he has advised BJP workers against making anti-Muslim remarks. However, he has also made speeches filled with dog-whistling against Muslims, and under his leadership, BJP politicians have made hateful speeches, and there have been lynchings and the honoring of convicts in the Bilkis Bano case. The WhatsApp University and its "brainwashing mafia" are responsible for spreading the narrative that Hindus have been oppressed by Muslims for thousands of years. This is a false and divisive message that goes against the historical evidence of cordial relations between Hindus and Muslims, known as the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. Reclaiming Our Shared History ----------------------------- Throughout history, we have seen examples of Hindu and Muslim rulers, saints, and common people coexisting and respecting each other's faiths. From Akbar's Sulh-i-Kul (Peace for All) to Bahadur Shah Zafar celebrating both Eid and Dussehra, the narrative of perpetual Hindu-Muslim conflict is a myth. It is time to reclaim our shared history and reject the divisive propaganda that seeks to pit us against each other. We must stand united, celebrate our diversity, and work towards a future where all citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs, can live in harmony and prosperity.
